When approaching Dubai a window seat is the perfect place to sit. Although the view is rather monotonous during most of the flight, just before landing passengers will be able to admire the views of the city of Dubai in the middle of the desert with its 3 harbours in the shape of huge palm trees. These islands are resorts, golf courses, luxury villas and marinas, however, even on the mainland, the city is steeped in luxury thanks to its vast oil reserves.

Dubai is a wealthy banking and financial centre in the Middle East, attracting vast numbers of tourists and businesses each year. Dubai is the epitome of luxury and the absolute highest class – more so than any other city – and this is also reflected in the recreational programme of the city. Nowhere else can tourists shop in shopping centres that are embellished with gold, or ice skate in the middle of the desert. Beach walks or camel safaris in the desert are also obligatory during a holiday in Dubai. 

Anyone who opts for a holiday in Dubai should take a look at the most famous and expensive hotel in the world, the "Burj al Arab". The hotel has been awarded 7 stars and is the tallest hotel building in the world. It has become the landmark of the city. Unfortunately, the hotel cannot be seen from the inside, but even the outside of the building is magnificent enough.
