Airport Hannover

Hannover Airport (also Hanover airport) is officially called Hannover-Langenhagen Airport and is the largest airport in the city of Hanover and the German Federal State of Lower Saxony. In 2011, the airport was at place nine according to annual passenger numbers, being used by a total of over 5 million passengers.

Cheap flights from Hanover are operated by Condor, German Wings and Airberlin. The most popular flights from Hanover Airport serve Majorca, Rome, London and the Turkish cities of Istanbul and Izmir. Airlines operating flights from Hanover to London include bmi and Germanwings, while German domestic routes, e.g. the flight Munich - Hannover, or Stuttgart - Hannover, are served by daily flights operated by Airberlin and Lufthansa. An average of about 180 aircraft start and land at Hanover airport every day.

There are several services which can be used by passengers upon arrival at Hannover Airport. For transfer to and from the airport, please use public transport or hire a car at the Hanover airport rental car offices. Car hire offices are situated in the arrivals hall between Terminal A and Terminal B. Europcar's car hire service is open from Monday to Sunday, 24-hours a day. Passengers with late flight arrivals also have the option of staying in a hotel at Hannover airport. The Maritim Airport Hotel Hannover and Hotel Holiday Inn Hanover Airport both offer passengers modern rooms and a large spa with swimming pool, sauna and various fitness facilities.

Passengers with a flight from Hannover can reach the airport using the S-Bahn S5 from the central train station to terminal C of Hanover Airport. The journey takes about 15 minutes. The bus number 470 also goes from the centre of Langenhagen to the airport, stopping close to terminal C. If arriving by car, please use one of the car parks at Hanover Airport. Picking up and dropping off passengers is free for the first 30 minutes with the exception of the short stay car park outside the departures hall. A total of 14,000 parking spaces are available at Hanover airport and parking fees range from € 3 per hour to 8 € per hour (as of April 2012), depending on the car park used.
